How to know if your roof needs repair

Typically, a home is the largest purchase most people make in their lives. More and more homes are becoming do-it-yourself projects and big chains like Home Depot and Lowes offer free classes in all types of projects. Sometimes, however, may not be aware of a problem exists. In this article, we're going to take a look at the roof of a house and how to tell if it needs to be repaired or if the entire roof must be replaced.

1. Check the outside of the roof. Check for something missing or loose tiles. Remove any branches of trees or shrubs that may hit the roof, because, over time, they may damage it. If you have a roof-mounted HVAC units, make sure the exhaust pipe is working properly and not lose the roof, over time can damage the tiles and cause a loss.

If you find mold in your attic, we recommend you contact a company that specializes in mold remediation. Some types of molds are very toxic and I do not recommend that you try to get rid of it yourself.
