Installing a Tankless Hot Water Heater

Step 1:

Plumbing

Start by turning off the water when you enter the house and open all taps to drain the system. Decide if you want to enter the old pipe from mounting a tape on a pipe and start working again the way to the new tank.

The easiest way to join pipes together is to use compression fittings. Just cut the tube in length, clean end to remove burrs and dirt, and press into a montage with a twisting motion. I used the hose for the last segment for heating. Be sure to install hot and cold valves cut near the heater. That's it.
Step 2:

Electrical

The first thing is to throw the main switch off. Next remove the panel cover and use a simple test circuit to make sure that there is current before you start working.

You should already have determined that your circuit breaker box can handle the added value of this amperage Tankless units and have enough slots for new breakers. For a 80-amp heating this will require two 40-amp breakers. For a 120-amp warming, will require three 40-amp breakers. This is a Bosch - other models may be different. Each of these switches is double wired for heating with the pair (plus wire) of copper wires. Make sure you use the recommended gauge of wire.
Step 3:

Finish Wiring

Punch the lengths to which the new panel switches are inserted through the cover and reinstall. Give the new switch it off for now. Next run these wires to Tankless heater. Connect the wires Tankless heater terminals, as shown in the installation guide supplied with the heater.
Step 4:

Almost finished

Are you ready for a test. To do this make sure the Tankless water heater switches are off. Then turn on all faucets in the house and open the valves to the tank. Remember to turn the main water supply. This test is to remove the debris and prevent vapor lock. Check for leaks. If the tank is equipped with a filter, a small mesh type may be installed at the next bout of cold water.
Step 5:

Test

Turn off all faucets in the house, but closer to a shower of hot water. Throw the switch and the main page. The red light should come and you should have hot water in about 10 seconds.
Step 6:

Adjustments

There are two adjustments - the heat and the instrument in line hot water valve from the tank. Both the temperature and water flow can be adjusted to fit your comfort level. Remember the hotter water means less scope.
